Deep groove ball bearings (GB/T 276-1994) originally listed radial ball bearings are the most widely used rolling bearing. It is characterized by low frictional resistance and high speed. It can also be used on parts that bear axial load, such as low-power motors, Automobile and tractor gearboxes, machine tool gearboxes, general machines, tools, etc. For sealed deep groove ball bearings, there are rubber cover seals and iron cover seals. The function of the bearing seal cover is mainly to prevent the intrusion of foreign matter (solid foreign matter, liquid foreign matter) and prevent the loss of bearing lubricant.
There are two sealing forms of bearing sealing cover:

  1. It is a non-contact sealing cover (the sealing cover and the inner ring are not in contact), including stamping steel plate sealing cover (iron closure) and non-contact rubber sealing cover.
    Advantages: dustproof, high relative speed, relatively low noise effect of metal sealing cover, relatively low price.
    Disadvantages: Cannot prevent the intrusion of liquid foreign objects.
    Second, it is a contact sealing cover (the sealing cover and the inner ring of the bearing have single or multiple lip contact), including contact rubber sealing cover and labyrinth contact sealing cover.
    Advantages: anti-dust, anti-liquid foreign matter, high mute effect.
    Disadvantages: lower speed and higher price.
    Therefore, there is no difference between good and bad deep groove ball bearing sealing covers, only the difference between suitable and inappropriate. For example, in a clean environment, it is not necessary to use a contact rubber sealing cover, which will only increase the manufacturer’s additional cost.
    In summary, there is no good or bad seal type. The main consideration is where the bearing is used and the environmental factors of the bearing need to be considered. In fact, it is the sealing effect and friction coefficient.
    The structure of the seal ring is different, the material is different, the friction coefficient is also different, if the bearing with high friction coefficient is selected at a high speed, the bearing will soon be damaged; the other is the difference in the dustproof effect. Therefore, when choosing the right bearing, many factors should be considered when choosing the rubber seal or seal of the bearing.
